Cleaning Guide for New Builds, Homes and Workplaces
A short reference for contractors, developers and homeowners planning cleaning in Dar es Salaam — especially after construction or renovation.
What post-construction cleaning involves
After construction cleaning is the work that sits between “builders finished” and “the property can be handed over”. It removes construction dust, cement and plaster residue, paint marks, labels and debris. It is the correct first clean for a new house, apartment or commercial unit in Dar es Salaam.
See the full service: Post-Construction Cleaning.
How deep cleaning differs
Deep cleaning is for occupied or previously used spaces. It is more thorough than a weekly clean, but it is not designed to lift cement film or heavy plaster dust. If those materials are present, start with construction cleaning, then use deep cleaning later if needed.
A simple handover checklist
- Floors free of haze, grout film and scattered debris
- Glass and mirrors clear of labels and paint
- Kitchens and bathrooms detailed, including cabinets and fittings
- Frames, switches and ironmongery wiped
- Presentation rooms ready for inspection or viewing
How to prepare the property
Access, water and power make the work faster. Where possible, complete wet trades and major snagging before the clean. Share remaining contractor activity so the team does not clean areas that will be dusty again the same day.
How long it takes
A single apartment may be completed in a day. Villas, full floors and commercial buildings take longer and may need a site assessment. Timing depends on size, condition and how much construction residue remains.
Request a site assessment
If you are unsure whether you need post-construction, deep or routine cleaning, send photos and the property location. We will recommend the right scope.
